What is a zine?
A zine is a collection of various creators fanmade works to create a published digital format.—What is Denouement of War about?
This is a SFW, NON-PROFIT free digital zine that will be hosted exclusively on the Twitter / Tumblr platform.The content of the zine will feature illustration pieces and written works related to the Hyrule Warriors series. The theme of the zine will allow artists and writers to create pieces inspired by Hyrule Warriors, based on the events of the game alongside the contributor's own experiences and interpretations of Hyrule Warriors.Please do note that this zine is specifically meant for the original Hyrule Warriors series (Hyrule Warriors, Hyrule Warriors Legends, and Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition). Therefore, Age of Calamity (AoC) will NOT be included.—What kind of pieces will be featured in this zine?
This zine will feature illustrations and fanfictions for all. AUs and headcanons may be encouraged as long as it sticks to the general theme. All applicants must be willing to create one new piece; reusing work that has already been published is NOT PERMITTED.—Are side characters allowed?
We would like to focus on the original Hyrule Warriors characters more for this zine, but we may allow other Legend of Zelda characters so long as it sticks to Hyrule Warriors theme (have at least one HW character interacting).Though we advise potential contributors that we would prefer for the focus to be on original casts as possible.—Are you looking for more mods at this time?

Application Info

General Application Guidelines
We do not plan to be overly strict in reviewing the contributors. However:—WE DO NOT ALLOW NSFW IN PORTFOLIOS, due to the SFW nature of the zine. If you apply with either of these things in your work, you will be denied.However, for some characters like Cia, we will allow you to draw her characteristic and outfit as it is, as long as you don't lean too much into more sexual / suggestive themes.WE DO NOT ALLOW GORE IN PORTFOLIOS. We understand that Hyrule Warriors is a heavy war-themed story, therefore mild blood / injuries on both characters and enemies are still fine. But we strongly advise to be against graphic depiction of organs, etc.NO AI ALLOWED. If any submission is seen to be Artificial Intelligence (AI), your application WILL be denied.—All contributors MUST have a Discord account, be willing to regularly check the Zine Discord server, and respond to any DMs from Zine mods. ArtistsWhen accepted into the zine, artists will be expected to create at least one full piece of art depicting the events and characters of Hyrule Warriors.The application for artists will include:
— Two of your best pieces (one Hyrule Warriors piece would be recommended, but if not, general Legend of Zelda is fine).
— Portfolio (NOT social media. Must be Google Drive / carrd / etc).—WritersWhen accepted into the zine, writers will be expected to write at least one short story depicting the events and characters of Hyrule Warriors.The application for writers will include:
— Two fics samples (It does not have to be Hyrule Warriors, general Legend of Zelda is fine).
— Optional portfolio (Google Drive / AO3 Profile).—Digital Merch ArtistsWhen accepted into the zine, digital merch artists will be expected to create at least one digital merchs (e.g. wallpapers, icons, emotes) depicting the events and characters of Hyrule Warriors.The application for digital merch artists will include:
— Two of your best pieces. (This can include actual physical merch you have created).
— Portfolio (NOT social media. Must be Google Drive / carrd / etc).

ModeratorsWe are looking for more mods: art mod, writing mod, and a formatting mod.The application for moderators will include:
— Your experiences as a mod (at least one; if not please tell us your experience as a contributor working with a mod).
— Sample of your work (at least one).For art mod, a full illustration you drew.
For writing mod, a fic you wrote and edited.
For formatting mod, 1~2 pages from a zine / project you formatted.
(preferably both text and image).Please keep the samples SFW. Make sure the files are accessible to the mods.—Art ModThe art mod is responsible for:
— Giving feedback to artists.
— Making sure that all illustrations follow the specs / guidelines.
— Keeping track, reminding, and reaching out to the artists who missed a check-in(s) or asked for extensions.—Writing ModThe writing mod is responsible for:
— Editing the fanfics and giving feedback to writers.
— Making sure that all fanfics follow the specs / guidelines.
— Keeping track, reminding, and reaching out to the writers who missed a check-in(s) or asked for extensions.—Formatting ModThe formatting mod is responsible for:
— Formatting the final zine into PDF.
— Correcting errors found during reviewing the PDF.
— Letting the mod team know if there are issues with the final output.
